I am extremely proud to announce that the UK Armed Forces Judo Team managed to win a Bronze medal at the National Team Championships in Walsall last weekend. Lt Paske RE was Team Captain for the event winning three of his four fights against some formidable GB standard opponents.
This is only the third time in recent history (last 30 years) that the Services Judo Team has medalled at this event and is something that we can be immensely proud of. To have the Royal Engineers Captaining and managing the team shows the strength of Corps Judo at present in terms of both Player Performance and Elite Sports Management.
Achieving a bronze medal at the highest level of competitive team competition in the UK is no mean feat and it is through the combined hard work and dedication of the players, coaches and supporters that the Sapper Judo team were recognised as one of the most competitive teams through an exemplary performance – well done!
