As well as reaching us directly Clients can simply contract with us through frameworks that have pre-arranged terms and conditions and rate sets such as:

Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS)

  • Technical Studies – research based activities including studies, prototyping and technical demonstrators.
  • Technical Project Support – project based activities into operational centres where there is a capability gap, including manufacture; concepts; assessment; development; in-service; disposal; independent security activities; reliability modelling.
  • Technical Engineering Support – tasked based support including: post design services; calibration; analysis testing; integration.

  • Crown Commercial Services Digital Outcomes and Specialists. Provision of teams to research, test, design, build, release, iterate, support or retire a digital service. Buyers will define the brief. Includes outcomes like an accessibility audit or a beta of an NHS appointment booking system.  Digital specialists – Provision of individual specialists to deliver a specific outcome with defined Deliverables on a service, programme or a project. The scope and Deliverables will be defined by the Buyer.  Includes the following specialists.
  • Crown Commercial Services G-Cloud. The framework is predominantly for commodity based, pay-as-you go cloud services.
  • Niteworks was established by the MOD to provide a commercially neutral environment in which to address complex Defence challenges through a partnership between MOD, industry and academia.

UK Hydrographic Office Research Framework. 

The UKHO collects and supplies hydrographic and geospatial data for the Royal Navy and merchant shipping, to protect lives at sea.

Specialist Frameworks via Dstl including:

The Defence Human Capability Science & Technology Centre – which aims to support the integration of human sciences research across the MoD. This delivers research across a broad range of themes.  Research examples relate to enhancing physical and cognitive performance, reducing soldier burden whilst maximizing safety, utilising recent developments in simulated environments for training and exploiting human behaviours in conflict resolution.  Research themes:

Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance – Secure Information Infrastructure and Services (CSIIS) Research Programme. This conducts innovative concept and systems development research across a number of technical disciplines/strands including Networks, Services, Communications, Information Assurance, Knowledge Management, Information Management and Information Exploitation.

Analysis Support Construct. This is to service the demand for analysis required by UK defence & security decision makers.  A partnership between the MoD and industry that aims to analyse problems, examine options, and de-risk requirements to help the MoD to make better, faster, and more-informed decisions.

R-Cloud provides a rapid and transparent means for industry and academia to access contracting opportunities with Dstl across key capability areas.  Membership includes UK and international research suppliers.
