Helyx is committed to an evidence-led and proportionate approach in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Our response will be consistent with the latest guidance and expert opinion from the UK Government, World Health Organization (WHO) and other key agencies.
We recognise that the situation is likely to change, and our Senior Management Team is monitoring the situation closely.
We will keep our people informed of the latest developments, and we will update our advice and guidance as required.
We will also continue to support and communicate with our customers, on a frequent basis.
Protecting Our People
Our principal offices are now closed, but our staff and key workers are continuing to work from their homes or at our customer sites, where possible, and in-line with our Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
The health and wellbeing of our staff, customers and partners is our number one priority, and in light of the current situation, we are providing regular guidance and advice on matters such as regular hand washing and social distancing.
We are ensuring that meetings take place virtually or are postponed until a later date. We are also restricting participation at external events and we minimising all non-essential travel.
We are proactively working with our customers to enhance or introduce service contingency plans, in the event that further restrictions become necessary. Our staff who regularly work on customer sites have been instructed to abide by the guidance issued by those sites, and where appropriate, to take extra precautionary measures in line with the latest advice from Helyx.
We undertake minimal international travel and we are confident that none of our staff have travelled to high-risk areas within the last 14 days. Where staff are returning from overseas, or have come into contact with people from affected areas, we are asking them to work from home for a minimum of 14 days. For the foreseeable future, international travel will only occur in exceptional circumstances, and following a full risk assessment by our Senior Management Team.
Helyx continues to run training courses where feasible and appropriate, in line with UK Government advice.
Helyx maintains a detailed Business Continuity Plan (BCP), which is tested on a regular basis.
In response to the potential impact of Covid-19 on our business, we have developed a new Covid-19 specific Annex for our BCP, which provides guidance on how to minimise the disruption to our business and our customers.
Importantly, all of our employees and contractors are able to (and frequently do) work away from our offices, and they have the resources and tools they need to do their jobs securely from home or other remote locations.
We are confident that our plans and approach both protect our people and reduce the level of service interruption to our clients and business operations, as well as enabling efficient and proven recovery efforts.
Note that our offices are closed – but by exception and prior arrangement, to ensure that all our staff are as safe as possible, anyone visiting Helyx offices will be asked to certify that they:
- Have not been to a high risk countries in the past 14 days;
- Have not knowingly come into contact with anyone who has tested positive and / or in self-isolation with suspected Coronavirus in the past 7 days;
- Do not have any symptoms of Coronavirus, such as a cough, a high temperature, and shortness of breath.
