The Cumbrian Challenge is back by popular demand on Saturday 16 May 2015 for its third year and Helyx are sponsoring The Climbing Prophets team.
This year they are helping Walking With The Wounded support up to more wounded veterans back into employment .
Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) was established in 2010 to support all veterans with physical, mental or social injuries to gain the skills and qualifications required to develop new careers outside the military, re-integrate into society and provide long-term security for themselves and their families.
They achieve this via a combination of programmes which provide a holistic approach to supporting a career transition from the military into civilian employment. Whilst the primary focus is employment, programs also focus on key issues facing veterans such as homelessness, veterans in police custody and mental injury.
In conjunction with individual fundraising events, Walking With The Wounded also promotes awareness of the charity, the wounded community and the challenges faced by all those living with disability by undertaking high profile expeditions with wounded veterans and serving soldiers that are entirely funded by corporate sponsorship.
